Overview: In this Jupiter Melody Ionizer Review I'll be answering the question many have asked:

Is it as good as the $4,500 or even the $2,700.00 models?

Most water ionizers on the market, even the $4,500 models, are very similar in features. And the Melody is not much different - except being lower in price. I consider it a good value. But in this jupiter melody ionizer review we'll be digging into some of the distinctions that really matter which (to me) by looking at:

1 - Price/Value Comparisons

2 - Safe Plastics

3 - Ease of use (skipping all the bells and whistles)

4 - Overall Quality (electrical components, plating, etc.)

5 - Replacement Filter Costs

6 - Ease of Hookup

7 - Feedback from Consumer and Expert Reviews

About the Melody

I really like almost everything about the Jupiter Melody Ionizer - except for the fact that being a 5-plate rather than a 7-plate water ionizer machine it starts to become expensive (at least relative to several up and coming models on the market with a similar price).

Amazon Reviews of the Melody Ionizer are also mostly positive, the exception being cases (from having read them) where the person had expectations of a wider range of pH. To be fair this is often the case of the persons water being too low in minerals (as in soft water or people using RO units on their well water) and not teh ionizer itself.

Pro's & Cons

Pro's

1 - Platinum Titanium Electrolytic Cells

2 - 5 Year Warranty and 30 day Unconditional Guarantee

3 - Good value for the Price

4 - 9 pH settings - 4 acid/4 alkaline 1 filter only

Cons

1 - For the price it could be a 7-plate

2 - Not using FDA approved plastics

3 - Replacement Filters $89.95

4 - Not essential but it would be nice if they used color coded hoses and advance older clamp design to use quick connect hoses.

How To Compare Water Ionizers
By Quality

Several certification standards exist that determine quality of design and of electrical components:

UL Certified - Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (www.ul.com) is an independent lab that writes testing standards and tests products for safety and certifies them.

CE Certified - The European Commission describes the CE mark as a "passport" that allows manufacturers to circulate industrial products freely within the internal market of the EU. Most products covered by New Approach Directives can be self-certified by the manufacturer and do not require the intervention of an EU-authorized independent testing/certifying company (notified body).

ETL Certified - A product bearing the ETL Listed Mark is determined to have met the requirements of 200 prescribed product safety standards.

What I especially like about the ETL certification is the mark indicates that "the manufacturer's production site conforms to a range of compliance measures and is subject to periodic follow-up inspections to verify continued conformance".

The fact that most water ionizers are made in the Orient means that safety can be a issue, as their standards are much lower than ours.

Conclusion

All in all I rank the Jupiter Melody Ionizer one of the best values in the water ionizer world. If you need additional help you can call 1-800-215-1689 at the top of the page and/or read the additional reviews via the menu to the left.
