Life Ionizer 9200 Review

Retail Price $3,597

Overview

With the Life Ionizer 9200 model we enter the rarified air of pricing that gets close to the most expensive - Kangen's $4500 water ionizer. The exception here being that the 9200 is also a convenient under counter unit.

In this review we'll be answering questions including:

Q: Is the Life Ionizer 9200 worth the price?

and explore:

Q: How does this compare to other under counter models?

As 7 plate water ionizers go the 9200 has all the right technology and ease of use. Titanium and Platinum plates provide the industry standard for quality.

If you're wondering about whether to get the MESH plating option or the UV upgrades I would say pass on these upgrades. The Mesh, which provides a bit more surface area than flat plates, only provides a fraction of greater ORP. It also, as some claim, requires more cleaning as scaling builds up inside the little crevices of the MESH. This might mean sooner plate replacements are needed down the road.

Uv is not needed if you are on tap or municipal water as chlorine is added to the water to remove these dangers. The filter will remove these chemicals.

Conclusion

The Life Ionizer 9200 in the end is a very expensive unit. if it was much better than other comparable models, or there was something unusual about it, then perhaps one could justify the additional cost. But I just can't find anything to do so.

I'm also still having issues over whether Life Ionizer will solve their battle with the Better Business Bureau. While Life claims AAA+ rating a quick visit to the BBB website in Carlsbad shows that they are neither members of the BBB and their rating is an F based on many complaints.

My suggestion is to use many of it's features as a bench mark to find one that is 1/2 to even 1/3 the price. If under sink is what you want you'll find a section on undersink models via the left menu.
